WCYO Summer Strings Workshop 2025

The WCYO Summer Strings Workshop 2025 is now being planned. Our goal is to keep our fingers and minds fresh and to try out new string ensemble repertoire. We hope to include as many WCYO string players as possible, while also recruiting potential new WCYO members, students and adults.
The workshop will be held at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, Fellowship Hall, 494 E Main St. Hillsboro, OR. 97123.
The sessions will meet once a week, every Tuesday from June through August.
This year we'll have evening sessions in order to include as many musicians as possible.
For more information, complete the registration form below.
There is no cost for registering or attending the workshop.
This is a free workshop and runs all summer!

Summer Strings Workshop 2024 Participants
This summer we will be working on:
-
A Birch Bay Celebration Richard Meyer
-
Jazz Pizzacato Leroy Anderson
-
Sympnony II, mvt. 1, 2, 3 William Boyce
-
Two Aquarelles Frederick Delius
-
Symphony No 94 in G Joseph Haydn

-
Symphony in C minor Paul Wranitzky
movement 1, Andante Maestoso, Allegro Molto
Our Conductor, who will be leading from the chair, has assembled another inspiring summer with an eclectic mix of fun, interesting and challenging pieces to keep us in tip top shape!
It will be fun to investigate an array of works all new to us. All of them will be sure to please as they'll sharpen our present skills and introduce us to some new techniques and processes to achieve an optimum result.
This is our 4th year of running the WCYO Summer Strings Workshop and I must say that every year I've thoroughly enjoyed it and learned so much more than I thought possible in the otherwise non-productive months of summer.
I sincerely hope you'll join us!
I can promise you won't regret it!
Sue Mehess, WCYO Librarian and Violinist
