STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS
for WCYO Members
Funding for Student Scholarships is available again this Spring!
The Westside Community & Youth Orchestra has been awarded a series of grants from the Richard B. Siegel Foundation via the Hillsboro Community Foundation. These grants provide exposure, education and opportunities to the arts in the greater Hillsboro community. WCYO was selected because of the valuable artistic and cultural opportunities that it provides.
Through our grant, this term, we are offering scholarships of at least $350 per applicant. Depending on the number of applicants this may increase up to $500. If you have expenses that equal $500, please submit them, but understand that we may only be able to reimburse you for $350.00.
This is not a need-based scholarship.
Any WCYO Member under 21 years of age is eligible to apply once per term.
All expenses must be approved in advance and are only for your primary instrument played with our orchestra.
Orchestra members who have not reached their 21st birthday are eligible to apply for the student scholarships. All members receiving grant support are encouraged to continue their participation in our orchestra.
Lessons and instructors must be approved by the WCYO Board in advance.
To request grant funds, fill out the application, available on request or download here. Please note that our scholarship funds are limited and rely on the availability of grant funds.
We will reimburse after the end of the Spring term, May 30, 2026. Please email copies of receipts or invoices for reimbursement. Paper copies can be submitted if email is not possible, contact us for how to submit paper copies.
Copies of checks must include front and back of canceled check.
