The effect playing in an orchestra has on its members is significant. Musicians are surrounded by peers and adults who share their understanding and skill in music and connect on a basic level. Everyone develops an increased understanding of musical excellence as they grow as musicians.
There is a unique benefit to playing in a group. What may be easy when practicing alone takes on a whole new dimension when playing with others.
Information and education flows in all directions, not just from older musicians to younger ones. When it comes to playing and performing, everyone is a student.
